You wash and reuse your bottles…

We are launching 1000 refill stations in the UK by the end of 2022. Locations will include major high street and independent zero-waste, grocery and retail stores in small towns, market towns and major cities as well as University campuses, major train stations, garden centres, hair & beauty salons and even major office complexes. Customers will be able to choose from numerous products from various partner brands from shampoo to laundry liquid.

Refill Stations Nationwide

The first Refill Stations launched in ASDA Middleton, Leeds in a partnership with Unilever on the 19th October 2020, dispensing Radox, Simple, Alberto Balsam & Persil.

The trial is part of Unilever UK & Ireland’s #GetPlasticWise campaign, their five-point plastic plan to accelerate progress towards Unilever’s global 2025 plastic targets. As founding signatories of the UK Plastics Pact, Unilever believes that to truly tackle plastics waste in the UK it must be a collaborative effort across the full value chain – right from suppliers, manufacturers and waste management companies through to consumers. Unilever is committed to halving their use of virgin plastic and ensuring all of their plastic packaging is fully reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025.

World Leading Sustainable Technology

The Refill Stations are touch screen operated, dispensing reusable aluminium or steel bottles and full colour labels (containing all the required legal information), whilst the bottle filling is semi-automated for consumer ease of use, safety and hygiene.

The Refill Station has been designed using Cradle-to-Cradle principles. It is developed and manufactured in the UK (in an exclusive partnership with vending technology experts RBC Group) and can be remanufactured to incorporate updated technology eliminating future waste. The bulk dispensing bottles are collected, washed and refilled as part of the Return•Refill•Repeat programme.

Beauty Kitchen exists to pioneer sustainable change in the beauty industry. Whilst being the first UK high street beauty business to become a B Corporation and launching Return•Refill•Repeat was a great start. The Refill Stations will bring access to the circular economy to millions of households. We hope that other beauty and household brands and retailers will collaborate with us to extend the impact of our innovation.”
